Health and air quality

What to do at each pollution level: advice for everyone and for vulnerable groups — children, pregnant and breastfeeding women, the elderly, people with chronic respiratory and cardiovascular diseases.

The advice is general and does not replace medical consultation.

Good

level 1 of 5

Everyone can spend time and exercise outdoors. No restrictions.

Satisfactory

level 2 of 5

No risk for most people. Unusually sensitive people may notice mild discomfort.

Fair

level 3 of 5

Reduce prolonged, intense outdoor exertion. Vulnerable groups should take care.

Poor

level 4 of 5

Limit time outdoors and keep windows closed. Vulnerable groups should stay indoors; seek medical advice if symptoms appear.

Very poor

level 5 of 5

Avoid going outdoors, cancel physical activity and use air purifiers. Seek medical help if breathing becomes difficult.
